Prohibited and Restricted Items Policy

At Addlist, we reserve the right to determine which items are able or are not able be sold on our platform at any time. The following list details items that are prohibited or restricted. We may remove any items that, while not explicitly listed here, are deemed offensive, breach our Terms of Service, or present a risk we are not willing to accept.

This list may be updated or revised at any time at our discretion.

 

  1. Advertisements

  • Posts that advertise commercial or private websites with the intent of selling outside Addlist.

  • Unsolicited advertising, promotions, or requests for donations, including 'spam'.

  • Advertisements for multi-level marketing, get-rich-quick schemes, businesses, or marketing opportunities

 

  1. Alcohol

  • Alcoholic products including beer, spirits, and wine gift sets.

  • Liquor licences.

The sale of the following is allowed:

  • Beer/wine making kits.

 

  1. Animals and Wildlife Products

  • Live animals, including those offered as prizes or gifts connected to items listed on Addlist.

  • Products from endangered species, including parts, pelts, skins, or ivory items, as well as tusks, horns, or antlers.

  • Animal traps, glue traps, and animal specimens preserved in toxic or flammable substances.

The sale of the following is allowed:

  • Pelts from non-endangered species (excluding dogs and cats).

 

  1. Counterfeit Currency and Stamps

  • Replica coins for collection, counterfeit coins, counterfeit banknotes, and counterfeit bonds.

 

  1.  Counterfeit Items, Replicas, and Unauthorised Copies

  • Counterfeit clothing and accessories (e.g., bags or clothing bearing brand names such as Gucci® without the brand's authorisation).

  • Counterfeit replacement parts not made by the original manufacturer.

  • Counterfeit electronics, cosmetics, and other items.

  • Pirated or unauthorised copies of media, including but not limited to books, films, music, games, and software.

  • Digital products or downloads offered by sellers without the copyright or authorisation to do so.

  • Equipment used in the creation of counterfeit items.

 

  1. Credit Cards

  • Active and inactive bank, credit, debit, pre-paid, or store cards.

  • Allowed: Blank plastic cards that are not encoded with identifying information.

 

  1. Cultural and Historic Properties

  • Artifacts, antiques, or items of cultural, historical, or archaeological significance that are protected under national laws or international conventions.

 

  1. Data Banks, Mailing Lists, and Personal Information

  • Data banks, mailing lists, or any personal information such as names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses.

 

  1. Drop-shipping

  • Drop-shipped designer, luxury, electronics, cosmetics, or items listed using stock photos.

  • Drop-shipped items bought in bulk or sourced from other marketplaces.

The sale of the following is allowed:

  • Handmade items or items designed by the seller; products printed or produced on demand that the seller has personally designed.

 

  1. Drugs and Drug Paraphernalia

  • Narcotics, steroids, and any controlled substances.

  • Products marketed as "legal highs" or any substances with drug-like effects.

  • Items intended for the use, manufacture, or concealment of illegal substances.

 

  1. Food and Edible Items

  • Perishable food or items past their expiration date.

  • Non-perishable food items without a clear expiry date or ingredient list.

  • Home catering services.

  • Unsealed or opened food products.

  • Pet food.

The sale of the following is allowed:

  • Non-perishable food items with a clear expiration date and ingredient list. Items must comply with relevant food regulations in both the country of Addlist's operation and the buyer’s country of residence.

 

  1. Firearms, Weapons, and Military Items

  • Any firearms, ammunition, or military equipment, including parts or kits for constructing firearms.

  • Firearms replicas, blade weapons, knives, and sharp instruments (including kitchen knives, fishing knives, switchblades, swords, blackjacks, and brass knuckles).

  • BB guns, airsoft guns, paintball guns, bows and arrows, pneumatic spearguns, and other similar items.

The sale of the following is allowed:

  • Bulletproof vests, toy miniature weapons that cannot be mistaken for real ones, and toy weapons.

 

  1. Fireworks and Kits for their Implementation

  • Any fireworks or kits intended for the construction or use of fireworks.

 

  1. Goods from Embargoed Countries

  • Any items that are prohibited due to international trade embargoes.

 

  1. Government, Transit, and Shipping-Related Items, Government Documents, IDs, and Licenses

  • Any government, transit, or shipping-related items, government documents, IDs, or licences.

The sale of the following is allowed:

  • Historical or collector badges (e.g., antique sheriff's badges) if they are described as being at least 75 years old or related to organisations no longer in existence. Souvenirs such as hats, pins, mugs, and other memorabilia without official government emblems.

 

  1. Graphic and Violent Imagery

  • Any content depicting graphic or violent imagery, including but not limited to gore, blood, or violent acts.

 

  1. Hate Speech and Discriminatory Content

  • Content that Addlist deems to be hate speech, discriminatory, or offensive to any group based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any other protected status.

 

  1. Hazardous Materials

  • Hazardous materials such as flammable gases, pesticides, poisons, toxic substances, and any items subject to specific sale restrictions.

  • Any other dangerous items, including chemicals, radioactive materials, or explosive substances.

 

  1. Human Remains, Organs, and Body Parts

  • Human body parts, organs, bones, teeth, bodily fluids, blood, waste products, sperm, and eggs.

The sale of the following is allowed:

  • Human hair used in wigs, extensions, and hairpieces.

 

  1. Lock-Picking and Locksmithing Devices

  • Any devices intended for lock-picking or locksmithing.

 

  1. Lotteries and Giveaways

  • All types of lotteries or raffles.

  • All forms of lottery tickets, including scratch cards and entries into any type of lottery or raffle.

  • Mystery boxes or items where the contents are unspecified and left to chance.

 

  1. Medical Devices and Products

  • All prescription and over-the-counter medical devices, including but not limited to contact lenses, diagnostic tests, contraceptive products, teeth whitening products, and any healthcare-related items not approved for sale.

  • Herbal and holistic remedies or supplements that make misleading claims or include unapproved ingredients.

  • Used or opened healthcare products, including masks and sanitising liquids.

  • Counterfeit medical items.

  • Non-medical items that make false or unverified medical claims.

The sale of the following is allowed:

  • Unopened vitamins, new medical supplies, and handmade face masks that meet applicable regulations.

 

  1. Perfumes and Cosmetics

  • Used perfumes and cosmetics, testers, decanted products, and any items past their expiration date.

  • Handmade cosmetics without a list of ingredients.

  • Cosmetic items that contain prohibited, hazardous, or illegal ingredients.

  • Cosmetic items that contain ingredients that exceed permitted levels.

The sale of the following is allowed:

  • Unused, unopened, and genuine perfumes and cosmetics, and handmade cosmetics that comply with applicable safety regulations.

 

  1. Plants and Seeds

  • Any plants, seeds, or related materials that are prohibited or restricted by law or international regulations.

 

  1. Pornographic Material and Nudity

  • Any material representing or describing bestiality, necrophilia, coprophilia, incest, or child sexual exploitation, as well as any material that depicts sexualised imagery of children.

  • Adult content such as adult toys, adult videos, and adult films, as well as listings for used underwear or related items.

  • Any imagery depicting full or partial nudity, unless clearly part of a permissible category (e.g., artistic photography).

 

  1. Products Subject to Safety Regulations

  • Any product that does not comply with applicable safety regulations, including items for children (e.g., toys, car seats, prams), and products containing hazardous substances.

The sale of the following is allowed:

  • Products that meet regulatory safety standards and include clear safety markings, including for toys, baby products, and safety gear.

 

  1. Real Estate

  • Any form of real estate, including property rental or licences, is prohibited.

 

  1. Recalled Items

  • Products that have been recalled by a manufacturer or government agency, regardless of the reason for recall.

 

  1. Undisclosed Second-Hand Clothing

  • Second-hand clothing must be clearly disclosed as used and cleaned according to manufacturer instructions.

 

  1. Software

  • Counterfeit software, pre-installed software, or software restricted for sale.

The sale of the following is allowed:

  • Original software created and licensed by the seller.

 

  1. Stocks and Securities

  • Any stock, shares, or securities interests, including trading options, bonds, and other forms of equity or investment.

 

  1. Stolen Property and Tampered Goods

  • Any property that has been stolen or items with altered or removed serial numbers.

 

  1. Tobacco Products

  • All tobacco products, including cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes, nicotine replacement products, rolling papers, and any related accessories.

The sale of the following is allowed:

  • Incense and similar items, provided they do not reference or suggest illegal drug use.

 

  1. TV De-Scramblers

  • Any devices designed to bypass or decode encrypted television signals.

 

  1. Vouchers, Gift Cards, Digital and Non-Material Goods

  • Vouchers, gift cards, and other cash-equivalent items, as well as digital content such as in-game assets or downloadable items, are not permitted.

 

This list outlines general guidelines for the safety and security of all users on Addlist. Any listing that violates our guidelines may be removed at our discretion, and users found in repeated breach of these policies may face account restrictions or suspension.
